Summary
The Procurement and Inventory Specialist understands purchasing-related processes and general pharmacy warehouse responsibilities. Works closely with purchasing associates at sites for any procurement / inventory processes and issues. Assists with DSCSA compliance and reporting as necessary. Will assist in ordering medications and supplies using relevant internal software and outside vendor ordering platforms. Ensures that the individual site’s infusion equipment is kept within regulatory standards.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr+ (DOE)
Schedule: (Remote) Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (EST or CST preferred)
Location: Ideally around West Chester, OH; however, not required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
- Equipment & Inventory Tracking
- Maintains accurate and real-time tracking of procurement and inventory items using Monday.com or other project management software.
- Regularly updates equipment status, location, and usage logs. Works closely with sites to ensure timely and efficient equipment management is completed.
- Assists with expiring inventory review and repositioning to reduce risk of loss.
- Ensures all sites adhere to standardized procurement and inventory processes.
- Conducts routine checks or audits to verify site-level compliance and flag deviations.
- Prepares and supervises purchase orders and places orders with outside vendors, ensures appropriate approvals and ensures association of appropriate documents for accounts payable processing in a timely manner.
- Assists CSI’s Pharmacies with purchasing product and maintaining inventory levels, including repositioning drugs and supplies as necessary.
DSCSA Compliance Monitoring
- Reviews Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) requirements and ensure all sites maintain full compliance (product tracing, verification, reporting).
- Assists sites with EPCIS file error resolution, suspect product investigations, and communication with channel partners as necessary.
- Works with compliance teams to update protocols as regulations evolve.
Procurement Support
- Acts as a backup to the Director of Procurement, including:
- Vendor and manufacturer communication
- Order processing
- Documentation and PO tracking
- Step in during peak times, absences, or urgent needs
- Adds / updates drug and supply inventory in relevant systems and collaborates with clinical, revenue cycle management, and accounts teams as appropriate.
- Receives, investigates, and documents recalls and returns affected product.
Contract Compliance & Vendor Performance
- Monitors vendor purchase volume against contractual obligations.
- Reports variances and assist in ensuring contract fulfillment.
- Engage with wholesalers and distributors to address and resolve issues.
Drug Pricing Board Management
- Maintains drug pricing tools and systems current with real-time market prices, acquisition costs, and reimbursement data.
- Supports decision-making for purchasing and pricing strategies.
- Assists accounting and finance teams in product pricing discrepancies.
340B Program Coordination
- Works with site inventory personnel and finance teams to ensure successful capture of 340B activities
- Identifies responsible parties for 340B compliance and communication including but not limited to finance, inventory, and revenue cycle management teams
- Assists in evaluating the financial and purchasing process associated with 340B-eligible drugs.

- Competence in Microsoft Office required, including Excel, Access, and Word.
Education and/or Experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Minimum 3 years medical or pharmacy experience or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy warehouse or equivalent experience.
