Summary 

Underthegeneral supervision ofManagement,theBilling Specialistis responsibleforassistingthe billing team in ensuringaccuratebilling,timelysubmission of electronic and/or paper claims,solving for unique billing requirements, resolving claims due to billing requirements,and documenting related account activitiesEnsurethat all billing is donepromptlyand meetsmonth-endexpectations.

Pay Range: $25/hr - $30/hr (DOE) + Quarterly Bonus opportunities

Schedule: (Remote) Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm in your respective time zone

Travel: 3xs/year to Plano, TX for various team gatherings, trainings, meetings, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

includethe following.Other duties may beassigned,as necessary.

  • Perform pre-bill review to ensure that authorization is documented where necessary.

  • Ensure that coding on claimsfollows payer guidance

  • Ensureaccuratebilled and expected chargesdo not exceed usual and customary or contractual pricing whereindicated.

  • Create andsubmitprimary and secondary pharmacy and medical claimspromptly.

  • Reviewing andidentifyingclaims pricing discrepancies based on updates/changes to fee schedules.

  • Communicateanybilling-relatedissues to allappropriatedepartments.

  • Ensure coding to the highest level of specificityand formaximum reimbursement bythird-partypayers.

  • Maintain current knowledge of departmental and organizational policies.

  • Support billing staff in training and ongoing educationwhenrequired

  • Consistentlyprofessionallyrepresentsthe company

  • Maintainseffective workingrelationshipsandcooperateswith all personnel in the Company.

  • Adheres to the Company’s compliance requirements asstatedin the policy and procedure manual and all other related policies.

  • Performsother duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • Provide the highest level of professionalism, responsiveness, andcommunication.

  • Proficient in the use ofa computerand other devices.

Education and/or Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

  • Basic math, bookkeeping,and accounting skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in medical billing.

  • Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as HIPAA regulations forhealthcare
