Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes the following:
- Ensures that good patient relations are maintained and acts as an unbiased advocate for the patient, their families, and caregivers.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with patients, family members, and patient community organizations.
- Supports leadership in the development of relationships with national patient organizations (CureJM, IPPF, MGFA, MSU, PDSA), and local patient support groups (i.e., Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia). This includes but is not limited to sponsorships, speaking engagements, exhibiting, and advisory committees.
- Works with advocacy leadership to determine which patient related conferences where our presence would have some value and provide that guidance to clinical and leadership teams on appropriate patient related conferences or organizations to seek membership in or attend on a corporate or individual level.
- Assists and supports team leadership with prioritizing company resources such as nursing or medical leadership to present or speak for certain patient related events, patient groups, or individual patients.
- Connects patients that are referred directly from patient communities, social media, and existing industry contacts to referral coordinators and account managers for patient onboarding to CSI Pharmacy.
- Engages patient and community involvement in CSI Pharmacy Patient Advocacy social media accounts.
- Identifies new opportunities at medical and patient conferences for CSI Pharmacy to participate and/or exhibit. Coordinates with Team Lead on which CSI team members attend conferences.
- Works with Team Lead, researching new partnerships with manufacturers and patient communities for CSI Pharmacy.
- Responds promptly to internal requests to help onboard patients or support existing patients by answering questions or just talking to patients about the therapy that has been prescribed for them as appropriate.
- Documents patient interaction activities in appropriate EMR/CRM and shares list with sales as appropriate.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, sharing information and promoting community engagement.
- Participates in Clinical Utilization Team meetings
- Facilitates CSI’s SIU team meeting. Coordinates weekly call to review pending patients designated for cancellation and active patients designated for discharge to determine if issue causing status can be resolved and patient can come on or stay on service
- Aids patients’ communication with their healthcare providers so they get the information they need to make decisions about their health care.
- Assists patients in navigating insurance, choosing health insurance plans, finding specialists, and solving problems that are impacting their health.
- Daily review of SIU issues ensuring follow up through to resolution for SIU Team.
- Facilitation of twice weekly SIU call AS NEEDED.
- Patient wellness calls. FTE will call a minimum of 10% of the CSI Pharmacy active patient census in their assigned Branch per month to conduct survey of patient satisfaction and record the results of those calls via assessment.
- Will Schedule Peer to Peer conversations with CMO as requested by Denial Management team.
- Will assist CMO and CSO in various initiatives related to clinical review and onboarding of potential CSI Pharmacy patients.
- Review and sourcing of proposed content for post to the advocacy Facebook page as needed.
- Development of content daily for the advocacy Facebook page.
- Clinical perspective and assistance with Q&A for Levo leads.
- Clinical support to CSI Pharmacy Chatbot.
- Attend team conference logistics meetings ahead of conference attendance and team debrief meetings post conference.
- Clinical FTE will research conference topics and develop an educational summary for review.
- Attend a minimum of 2 national conferences and be prepared to attend 3 to 5 local and regional events (local events as needed)
- Consistently represents the company in a professional manner.
- Maintains effective working relationships and cooperates with all personnel in the Company.
- Adheres to the Company’s compliance requirements as stated in the policy and procedure manual and all other related policies.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Five (5) years of prior patient advocacy experience preferred
- Experience working with manufacturers, patient organizations, or patient groups preferred

This job generally operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
